The objective of the competition is to make a short film on the given topic. Both individual competitors and creative groups consisting of a director, a camera operator and a screenwriter can take part. The One-Day Video competition will be held in two rounds. In the first round cuts of the author’s finished video projects shall be submitted. Work is sent via the Festival website and the jury selects the most creative and interesting videos. In the second round authors are invited to the Festival for one day to create a film on a given subject with a running time of between 1 and 10 minutes. All work created at the Festival will be exhibited in the exhibition area of the Festival’s Media City and on LED displays.

Terms and conditions of the competition
One-Day Video competition takes place within Kazakhstan territory and also covers the East Asian countries (Japan, Korea, China). The competition has two rounds.

First round: To take part in the competition you have to register by completing an electronic form  in Russian/Kazakh or English languages. You will also need to submit several pieces of your own work in the selected categories in recognised graphics or video formats. Participants will be selected by jury. Authors of the most creative and interesting works will go through to the second round.

Second round: The participants who go through to the second round will compete for the titles of Best ‘One-day Video’ taking place in Astana from 1 to 3 July. All work submitted for the competitions will be shown on LED displays at the Festival and exhibited in the Media City zone. There will be dedicated co-working space zones there – open work spaces where participants will be able to prepare their work. The awards ceremony will take place on 3 July, which is the Festival Closing Day.

Who can participate in the competition
Participants must be aged between 18 and 35 years old.
Both amateurs and professionals with specialist qualifications (artists, designers, animators, directors and other creative professions) can take part in the competition.

Technical terms of the competition:

1. Cuts from a film or films with a running time of not more than 1 minute.
2. Recommended file format mov (recommended codec PhotoJpeg). Other possible formats are avi and mpg, mpeg.
3. The maximum file size is 300 Mb.
